NADA/F was formed to address
the grievances of all who have been affected by devastating air
tragedies.
In pursuit of our founding
goals we work with survivors, family members, aviation professionals,
all levels of government, social service agencies, industry, other air
crash groups, and more. At times we are the only air safety group on
record opposing unsafe practices.
NADA/F has grown to become
the largest grassroots advocacy group working for aviation safety. We
rely on donations to cover general operations, mailings, memorial
flowers to honor our loved ones, annual meetings and much more.
We work with the media and
offer public testimony whenever and wherever possible, to educate and
inform the public about the need for the highest standard of aviation
safety.
Family members working together ensured passage of the following:
"The Aviation Disaster Family Assistance Act of 1996"
Fulfilled a short-term goal of NADA/F by establishing a family advocate.
NADA/F requested the legislation early 1996, and worked with others to ensure passage fall, 1996. We continue to work with government and private agencies to ensure that help is available for those impacted by devastating air tragedies.
"Airplane Pilot Hiring Safety Act"
Requires airlines to perform a background check before hiring a pilot, and requires the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) to establish minimum standards for pilot qualifications.
We will continue to educate and advocate for aviation safety and support for victims' families.
